MEDIA RELEASE: Exciting Partnership with Football DNA
We are delighted to announce a partnership with Football DNA (https://footballdna.co.uk); the ultimate platform for coach and player development. Through the use of their exclusive video football coaching content from top coaches and experts in the game, they provide access to over 500 practices of coaching practices and sessions on video that is perfect for grassroots football coaching and up to the elite levels of the game from U5 – Adults. With a subscription to Football DNA, in-depth sports science programs and workouts are at your fingertips and they also have even more content with top analysis videos along with interviews, webinars and coach education features to improve coach and player knowledge. They are determined to help all levels and age groups of the game develop, improve and aspire to be as good as they can be!
Last year, Ubuntu was introduced to Football DNA’s outstanding online content, which is now being utilized by the community coaches operating around Cape Town in our ‘Football Forward’ and 'Ubuntu Skills school’ programs - two of the key community programs that we run at grassroots level for footballers aged 7-12. Players connect with coaches, participate in drills and skills training, and benefit from mentorship and short life skills lessons during each session. We are now integrating Football DNA’s material into our sessions!
The content has further sharpened the coaches thinking and also resourced them well, especially with the age-appropriate manuals, helping more effectively deliver top content. Technical Director of The Junior Phase Dave Waters highlighted its value:
“Having previously spent time with Ross Brooks during a visit to West Ham, I was extremely excited to get our hands on the new material he and Football DNA had been working on. The podcast series and website has really helped create fresh thought and innovation, whilst the practical help of the manuals give us some great new material that is so relevant to the kids we coach”
At Ubuntu, we want to see our players develop, improve and reach their fullest potential and we are confident that this partnership better enables us to do that. Football DNA Founder and Director, Stewart England, said of the partnership:
'We are passionate about supporting football all around the world and this gives us another opportunity to give back to the community’.
We are excited to see how this partnership supports the work of our Ubuntu coaches and enables the young footballers of Cape Town to reach their fullest potential.
